Does anyone know what BMW does after the ships are unloaded?
There is a thing there called the BMW Preparation Center but what really needs to be prepared other than taking a plastic tarp off the cars?
Somehow there seems to be a 4 -5 day delay until the cars are trucked to the dealers and I suspect that the delay has more to do with scheduling trucks than actually needed "preparation"
Any thoughts?

Its just customs and inspection gibberish... plus they do have to wait for regional orders and allocations to fill the trucks. They're not going to ship to a dealer in Cal and one in NY on the same truck

I recently got 435i after 100 day order to delivery time. My car was at the port for about 10 days. What I found out through dealership and other inquires is the port some prep and customs issues as well as inspecting cars for damage while on the ship. The "port" also did m performance power kit upgrade.
