I have a 420i Petrol Convertible. Thereis an excessive amount of heat being generated inside the car from the transmission tunnel . For example after a journey of 2 hours the temperature inside the storage box behind the gear change reaches 40 degrees and the tunnel is very hot to touch. BMW can't offer an explanation. They know about the phone charger overheating with iPhones so we don't use that. Anyone suffering similar issues or can provide an explanation please? Thanks
Does your car have rear seat HVAC Controls? Had a similar issue - discovered the heat was a result of the temperature on the rear seat heating control set on high. Once I disabled the rear seat controls (turned off) the problem was solved.
