How many of you are up in arms at the name change? Clicking around some other BMW forums traditionalists are quite upset that the M version of the new 4-series will be badged M4. Similar to people up in arms about the g37 to Q60 swap, does the name mean that much or do you care more about what the car actually does ;)

some name change wont change what the car is to me.
at least there will still be M3 sedans, and it's only the coupes dropping the M3 badge for M4.

Just a name change won't change my thoughts of what is still to believe a new M3 coupe. I can see a lot of bmw fans getting upset over it.

As long as they didn't make a sub par vehicle to stand up to its name that is fine with me.

I think of it differently, why in the world would they pull such a stunt? there is so much history behind the M3 name and they just decide to scrap it.

They just better hope this M4 is so spectacular it would make us forget about the whole name change...

I understand where you're coming from, but if its really that upsetting to you why not swap the badges? 10.99 on ebay for gen-you-ine m3 badges...

I'd say the best is to just de-badge the M4 if it's that much of a concern but be sure to at least leave the BMW emblem in place.
