Run Flats suck

Got a huge puncture and rendered tire useless right away. Forget the 50 miles. Couldn't move an inch without damage to wheels. happened on a Sat and had to wait til Mon for dealership to open so can use my extra tire coverage plan. Why no spare is beyond me.

Agreed, and not even the potential to patch fix. Bin the RFT's ASAP...
Agreed but no space for even a space saver ....

Everyone on both sides that has to deal with them the most hate them. Tech's hate installing them and customers hate the obvious downsides found on forums like this one.
After some research, I think the weight saved by eliminating the spare, makes the ride more enjoyable. You think?

It could, with turning it might be more noticeable as you'll probably feel the difference in weight being thrown around.

how much weight is saved realistically, how much extra weight do runflats add over a regular tire combo? id say its a wash...
Negligible. P7 run flats weigh about 24lbs each and comparable potenzas in normal tires weigh 26lbs each in the same size. Add in a spare wheel and you're talking maybe 60lbs saved with run flats. It's probably more a packaging issue (space in the trunk) more than anything else. I doubt anyone can feel 60lbs while driving. At the track, maybe but not seat of the pants.

Since no spare, getting a patch kit and AAA is my backup plan.
yeah, I got my insurance and BMW roadside assistance. But to use the warranty deal where the wheel or tire is replaced for a deductible of $50, then you have to wait until the dealer opens.
