============================================================================================================================================

Hello everyone,

I'm looking to buy a used car and I found this one that I'm interested in: a 2014 BMW 4 Series with a 2.0L L4 DOHC 16V engine, and the title status is Rebuild. The price tag is $16,000. I'm trying to find out if this is a good deal or not.

I've done some research on the car and the engine, and it looks like the engine is reliable and has a good reputation. The car also appears to be in good condition and is at a decent price. However, I'm still not sure if this is a good deal or not, and I wanted to ask the members of this forum for their thoughts.

Do you all think that this is a good car, and that I should buy it? Are there any potential issues I should be aware of? What other questions should I ask the seller to make sure that this is a good purchase? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for your time and help.

Alas, you posted this on Feb 15, and no one responded. This forum must be DEAD!
Not sure if you are still looking at this, a month later, but here's my 2 cents worth:
A 2014 model year car is not that old, yet the price seems very low. While one could see this as a good thing, the classification of REBUILD suggests that it may have been in a serious accident. I'm in Canada, so I don't exactly know what REBUILD might mean in the US, but I want to say that the insurance company did not quite write it off, but allowed it to be rebuilt. If you have done research on the engine and found it to be in good shape, then its just a question of trying to find out exactly WHY the car was rebuilt. The photographs suggest its in good shape, though photos can be deceiving.
If you haven't already bought it, or moved on from it, I would seriously look at why it was rebuilt and then make a decision on whether or not you can live with what happened to it.

Thanks for the update. Glad you found this out and ran from it. While 4 unique owners might be acceptable, 2 major accidents are not. Keep looking and the perfect one will show up for you. Just enjoy the process of looking and assessing. I find that process to be a lot of fun, even though the findings are not always favourable.

Wow. A comprehensive history report, sadly saying all the wrong things. :oops:

A shame really - it was a good looking car. Still, best of luck with your search!
