I bet that the electronic engine gives the i8 a lot better acceleration. In a drag race that is probably what matters most.

depends what kind of drag race, you can accelerate all you want but if you run out of top end....

More than enough torque and one long gear what did you think was going to happen. You can see right from the launch the M4 did not have a chance. And then each gear it was falling behind further and further. Not a fair race in my books.
