The M3 and M4 were really made with track driving in mind. This fact is made more clear by the inclusion of an M laptimer stock in the M3 and M4. The app will be installed in the iDrive menu allowing people to use it whenever they like without depending on a smartphone.
The app is capable of recording the car's speed, longitudinal and lateral acceleration, engine revs, the ear engaged, steering angle, accelerator position and fuel consumption.
Another cool thing, is that this info will be displayed on the new head-up display and will have additional functions such as a gear display, rev counter and Optimum Shift Indicator.
