I own a 2022 M440i with idrive 7. The problem is whenever my phone connects with android auto idrive 7 shows that my phone is connected twice, as if I have 2 of the same phone, whenever that happens the music from my phone stops streaming. Rarely idrive7 shows my phone connected once, in that case, music streams normally. I don't have any problems connecting with other cars, except with my car & only with android auto not car play with the i phone. I rebooted the idrive twice without any results, worked on everything with the settings without being able to solve the problem. Has anybody had this issue, & is there a solution to it. I even called BMW Genius, but their solution was to reboot idrive, but nothing changed.

I have no solutions for you, but would like to show you some moral support. I did notice that your post is more than a month old, and I have just joined.
I have the same iDrive and have constant problems with connecting my Samsung S22. As soon as the engine is shut off, it seems the pairing disappears. Each time I sit in the car, I have to pair it all over again. My problem is not as serious as yours because it does pair once I re-pair it, but I don't understand why these problems should happen. Like yours, my phone pairs flawlessly with other cars, and my previous car. All my efforts to speak with BMW have resulted in "yes, there is a problem with your phone". It is infuriating to hear that, when I know it can't be the phone, since it pairs happily with other cars. But there it is.
Are you able to receive and make calls? Or is it just the music issue?
