all the latest BMWs, starting with the 4 series, will now have "ConnectedDrive" built by Harman. Pretty sweet set up features birds eye navigation with 3D city mapping. Also part of the system is the typical weather, Google street view and online local search.

All of this will show up on a shinny new 1280x480 display fed by a 1.3 GHz processor. The new iDrive Wheel includes a touch sensitive pad to enable writing. LOL. Cool, kind of...

Any more insight on this? I would like to see what the birds eye navigation is like and 3D mapping. Or any examples of what we can expect?

thats what i thought too, maybe it's a bit too ahead of their time to do it.
mid-cycle refresh maybe?

You can see in that photo the 4 series' iDrive wheel has a little touch pad on top. I think putting it on the shifter may cause unintended use...
