I just took delivery of a US-spec F36 435ix Gran Coupe and I'm disappointed to learn that having a digital speedometer isn't a factory option -- the BMW NA and dealer "Geniuses" say that only with the heads-up display is real-time digital speed reading possible. I didn't spring for the heads-up-display option.
I'm quite sure that getting digital speed in the instrument cluster is possible; anyone know what's required in the way of hardware/software to do the coding?
There are a few other defaults I'd change -- the warning screen in iDrive every time I start, the silly color coding on tire pressures (instead of actual pressures).
Neither BMW NA nor my dealer want to hear about it.
