It is by no means a secret that BMW IS working on a M4 convertible, aside from precedent the mule has already been spied several times. BMW has maintained the narrative that the M4 drop top would show up, ah "sometime"....

Well sometime is in fact June 26-29 2014 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed...

so yea, M4 Cabriolet to debut in June...

Looking forward to this.
I always liked the M3 Cab as a hard top, if it wasn't for the hardtop i'd likely not like it at all. Now because of how epic the M4 looks, the cab version of it should look better than anything before it.
to be honest I'm not a fan of the hard top cab, especially for a performance oriented car like the M4. Ok well a performance car should never be a cab anyways, but I find it funny that BMW gives us this complex rhetoric about thier weight shaving program for the M's then they go and stuff an ungangly heavy folding hard top.. Nope, it should of been a rag if anything!
it seems like people buy them because I see m3 convertibles often...
If you are really going for a performance car then you probably shouldn't go with a convertible, but if you want the best of both worlds then you may as well go with an M4 convertible. I think the hard top / soft top thing is a factor in this. For some people its about performance and weight, but for others its just about the look of the car.

Indeed, that was the point i was trying to get across. For BMW to say the M4 is ahardcore performance vehicle is a little missleading for them to offer a ponderous folding hard top. I mean the weight alone of the top and folding mechanisms is enough to negate the weight shaving effort BMW put into it...

But i suppose people do like them, they buy them. But they buy them to say I have an M4 convertible, not becasue they are the DRIVING ENTHUSIAST they would have you believe they are. Figure that if they were a driving enthusiast they would drive anything becasue after all they are enthusiastic about driving, no?
