BMW has been coming out with model after model after variant lately. The brand has been instructing dealers to remove sales cubicles in order to make room for more cars. The company also wants to start using flat-screen TVs to help customers understand the huge array of choices available.

One solution that BMW is considering is having centralized fleets so shoppers can test all the vehicles, but individual dealers will not have to stock every model.

Basically, BMW has so many models that dealers can't even show them all.

Are more models a good thing, or does it just serve to increase costs and confuse your customers at a certain point?

At least if you go to one of the flagship dealers your chances of seeing all the models will be high enough.
It's even possible that some dealers might limit their show room cars to one car from every segment, rather than like 2 4-series models on the showroom floor, limit it to one.

BMW models...what's the difference?

I want to buy a used bmw and put cash into it to make it a high staging car. i currently own an 89 240sx with an sr20det motor. i want to get a bmw to try something new but i dont know which one to get. For example i was looking at the 323i's but i don’t know the difference between the 323i's ci's and what other correspondence it comes with and what other series it has like a 3 series. I’m planning on getting a 323 or 325 but i don’t know which one is best for performance...So can anyone tell me from experience what the letters denote and the model #'s like 323 / 325 mean and what the series mean? And also which would you propose to buy to build into a high recital car and also the prices of each model if they were used..Thanks.
