BMW is reportedly developing an ultra-fuel efficient model that returns 588 mpg, or 0.4L/100km.
Automobilwoche reports that the car is a four-seater that has a carbon fiber reinforced plastic body and an extremely low drag coefficient. The model is also thought to weigh less than 1200 kg.
We still don't have any info on the powertrain, but rumor has it that the model will be a range-extended electric vehicle that uses an electric motor and a two-cylinder petrol engine that acts as a generator.
Don't expect this model to be super fast though, it will reportedly have a top speed of just 180 km/h.
A production model is not in sight right now, but keep your eye out for a concept car in the future.
