BMW M GmbH's Jorg Bartels has revealed the company has decided against building an M4 Gran Coupe.

Bartels told Carsguide at the Australian launch of the M3 sedan and M4 coupe, "It was definitely considered, but there is no plan to build an M4 Gran Coupe."

It did seem like an M4 Gran Coupe was likely, but Bartels said that the model wouldn't be expected to be a great seller. He went on to say the "4-Series Gran Coupe is built in a different factory to both the 3 Series and 4 Series, so there is a lot of challenges there."

Buyers will have to settle for the M3 which features a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder engine that develops 431 PS (317 kW) and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque.

LOL, selling it as logistical I see. NOPE. Fact is an M4 GC would NEVER sell. Consider the 4 GC is already priced higher than 3 sedan and 4 coupe, so the pricing premium would carry forward as well.

Plus its a different scenario than with the 6ers. At least with the 6 there was never a 4 door option, so M6 and M6 GC made sense...
