The BMW M4 GTS is an impressive machine, and in case you weren't convinced and needed some hard proof, here is the video of the the new King of the Ring lapping the Nuremburgring in just 7 minutes and 28 seconds.

To put that number in context, the M4 GTS has surpassed some very impressive vehicles. Within the BMW brand, it has lapped the ring faster than stalwarts like the Z8, M5 and M6. There are BMW motorcycles and non-production cars that have recorded faster times, but when it comes to production 4-wheel vehicles, there are none better than the M4 GTS.

The BMW M4 GTS has even beaten the times of some impressive exotics from other brands. Cars that have lapped the Nuremburgring slower than the M4 GTS include the Ferrari 458 Italia, McLaren MP4-12C and the Porsche Carrerra GT.

Just in case you were curious, the M4 GTS has 493 horsepower powering it, an improvement from the standard M4 sports coupe that has 425 horsepower. It also makes use of a new water-injection system that helps to keep the intake charge cool.

Impressive.

Good to see BMW still keeps on raising the bar since competition is growing and its only going to become more of a challenge for them to stick out.

Competition may be appearing but the BMW is the standard in terms of performance. We always see new models being compared to BMW cars including the 4-series. Still interesting to hear that BMW is ever advancing by beating competitors with the M4 GTS. Luxury brands like Ferrari and McLaren needs to keep improving themselves to compete with BMW now.

Well, when it comes to cars in the same segment, price range and the overall experience they offer... McLaren and Ferrari have far more offerings, BMW only has maybe a couple to be cross shopped.
