BMW will be giving this weekend’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance attendees a sneak preview of what the new M4 coupe will look like when it finally debuts.
Earlier, photos of the BMW Concept M4 Coupe leaked, but now the German automaker has made it official, revealing the “Aurum Dust” painted sport car that will undoubtedly very closely resemble the production M4. Everything about the concept’s aesthetics scream M from its wider stance to its larger air inlets on the more aggressive front end. The hood features the traditional power dome while the BMW M double-bar kidney grille is trademark to the automaker’s high-performance lineup.
What’s changed for the new generation M4 however is a redesigned M gill, which now incorporates the Air Breather, which combined with the Air Curtain within the front apron, helps ventilate the wheel arches and facilitate better airflow overall. Exclusive 20-inch wheels adorn each corner of the Concept M4 Coupe which cover up the M Carbon ceramic brakes.
As for the rear, the concept will feature two pairs of carbon fiber tailpipes enclosed in a carbon fiber rear diffuser.
Unfortunately, BMW didn’t reveal what lurks under the hood of the Concept M4 Coupe, or what the automaker’s intentions are for the production M4 in terms of performance. It is however, expected to have around 450 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque and will be several hundred pounds lighter than the production 4 Series models.
The production M4 is expected to make its official debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.
