Hello! My 2020 430i recently started giving out false positive readings on the front right bumper. It happens randomly, but it’s very startling when driving or backing up. I took it in and they claimed rock damage to the sensor so it’s not covered. But when I looked, there’s no apparent damage other than some normal wear and tear? I’m not sure if the amount that’s there is really making the entire sensor malfunction. It has 20k miles on it, and it’s a front bumper so I’m confused how this isn’t just a normal amount. They said the cost for the sensor is over $500. There’s no other rock damage albeit a few tiny chips elsewhere on the body.
