Hello all!

Anyone out there hear about any aftermarket options for the 435i xdrive? I've been checking the Dinan webpages but unfortunately there is not much available there (or seemingly anywhere else).

i was under the impression from a youtube video that Dinan had software available for the F32 because it is the same N55 engine as the 335i but was causing a lot of trouble with the 'computer' of the 4 series or something of the sort. Dont quote me on that though.....The M performance power kit is available though for 2 grand as opposed to 2500 for the dinan... the MPK does not offer as much HP and torque as the dinan at stage 2. and Dinan is also upgradable to stage 3 which needs an intercooler upgrade to work....which can bring your 435 if you have an air intake, m exhaust, ltd slip diff offered by bmw performance parts up to around 400 hp and around 415 lb/torque

Dinan can't yet "communicate" with any F series N55. Stage 2 software for E series N55 produces 355hp/400tq for $2000 according to their site, plus install at a authorized dealer.

The PPK really isn't that far off. In fact, Dinan dyno'd a E90 N55 with the old PPK and came up with 336/377. Not bad for a product BMW claims as 320/320 (old PPK). The engine is a torque monster.

You must have hit your 1200 mile break-in period by now. Love to hear your experiences with the extra grunt offered with PPK.

Wow, thanks for the info... U did a much better job explaining it than me... Tom I am having the M performance Exhaust installed... There will be a break in period... I am at 2100 miles so I've been punchin it.... Have some interesting stories about guys in 3s coming up to me constantly saying wow. Next I am opting with the MPK to be installed shortly with the air intake upgrade by BMW and LSD mod by BMW.... I wish I could do it all at once....but it's a lot of cheddar and you wouldn't believe what I owe for my lease return of my 3.....over 6k ugh

Got to love how BMW's are known for that.
I actually think they overbuild their engines and then detune them.

So we as consumers can spend $2k more on a "power kit" to experience what the 435 should have been from factory. They absolutely detune them. Aftermarket piggybacks going for $500 are safetly adding ridiculous amounts of power without requiring any other modifications.

Apparently Steve Dinan stopped by a dealership in San Diego very recently and said the software tune for the 435 is about a month out. I heard this from someone who spoke with the lead tech at the dealership. Take it for what it's worth.

New M performance muffler and tips installed last friday.... Looks awesome with the engraved ///M's on the chrome tips. From the outside, I immediately heard the different more seductive "pitch note" of the burrrrrrr. My friend punch revved the engine a bit in park and I was BLOWN AWAY by the sound and gurgle by standing on the outside and it hasnt even been broken in for 1000 miles. Although I couldnt really hear a difference or droning while driving with the windows up.... with the windows down, it was very distinct. I could also tell others can hear it from their cars because how suddenly more cars tried to "tempt me to race" them that night than the entire month i had the car.

The parts department warned me that over the first month or so... The exhaust is going to become MUCH louder and MUCH deeper, and in idle hearing that wha wha wha with its gurgling. I just hope i can hear it a little more than i can now in the cabin in a month. It would be nice for me to share the experience of the sound of the muffler with everyone else on the street! haha

Any updates? I have the MPPK installed and was thinking of the M Exhaust as well. It's the wife's car and she doesn't want it too "boy racer" sounding like you get with the fart cans they put on theirs.

Thanks for the input!

I had the M Exhaust without the MPPK... after 1000 miles, the engine really got much deeper in the lower revolution hum and can feel it in the seat.... ESP in gear 2 around 2500rpms and gear 6 around 3500 IMO....and at its full scream it "it sounds jet engine on take off" throaty but with class not being louder to be obnoxiously noticed but sportier for that Ferrari type supercar exhaust pitch note (and with the windows open...with launch control.....I couldn't stop smiling saying to myself WOW, that's what ive always wanted, I finally have it. You can feel and hear the air release and gurgle each time you shift

DEF not like a Honda civic with a muffler that sounds like a dude is trapped inside yelling on a Bullhorn on max volume baaaaaaaaaa baaa baaaaa...ba ba ba bibbity baaaaa waking up the neighbors.

See if you can find one installed and broken in....If definitely is more "masculine" but in its class. If your looking for volume go with a non bmw exhaust system (might void your warranty), if your looking for a more expensive sounding creamier- sportier tune, with increased gurgle and air blast when shifting....this is for you. I am having the MPPK installed this week.....aside from the increased torque.... I hope it makes it sound even better running at a higher revolution.......

Technically speaking, I think when you have a performance air intake with a performance exhaust, it helps your car in sound and speed....the m performance exhaust will help the extra air pressure be released.... more air in, more air out = better performance!

Need some help --- my girlfriend bought the dinan performance chip as an xmas present. i have a 2015 435i convertible with every option available (except auto cruise). should i install the chip? will it void the warranty? is it worth it? any advice is greatly appreciated.

My first concern is that you say you have a "chip". I believe the Dinan upgrade for the 4 series is a "flash", not a "chip". If you have a physical chip in your hand, I would doubt it is for your 4 series. Hopefully this is just a general term when you say chip.

As far as warranty...go to dinancars.com and check it out. No warranty issues and any BMW dealer can work on the car.

Worth it? I think you may be on the wrong forum if you are wondering if a Dinan performance upgrade is worth it. :)

Update: I purchased the MPE with the Carbon Fiber tips. I am VERY happy with my decision! Gives off a great burble sound when in Sport Plus and is slightly more noticeable in Comfort mode, but with a more refined hi-end sound you would expect from the brand.

It makes the engine sound very refined and exotic without the obnoxious boy-racer sound.
