What is everyones choice for m4: 6 speed or DCT?
Was leaning towards 6 speed, but hearing the majority are dct.
Will either make a difference at resale time when and if?

I would take a 6 speed any day, nothing better than a 6 speed in a BMW that's driver focused, it's the best way to have a better feel of the car.

Personal preference. Ideally 1 of each! When I had my manual, I would find myself wishing for an auto or DCT when in traffic. However, I also had a 911 PDK and found it boring and wished it were a manual. Whichever you choose, there will probably be some point where you wish you had the other. My problem with the dual clutches is that they are almost too good that the gear changes are almost too smooth. When not aggressively driving and actively thinking about driving, I found myself forgetting to switch gears. After a while I just left the PDK in auto. Ultimately, how much traffic driving do you do? Do you like to rev match and heel toe? Do you take to track? Great when your problem is deciding which transmission to get in your new M4

I have gone for DCT as i have never had one and just felt wen test driving my 428I just had a bit more about it. Wanted flappy paddles!

the DCT is a very good system

but if you want to row your own boat.

the 6MT offers a unique experience and challenge not available with a DCT.

DCTs are quick and fast though.

6MT, its just a connection. Although DCT can be quite fun with left foot braking
