BMW didn't announce it but the LA Auto Show did. BMW will be introducing a 4 series Hybrid to the world, using the same 3.0L straight six coupled with a 55 hp electric motor good for 340 horses currently doing duty in the ActiveHybrid 3 series.
no word on 4H specs but the 3H boogies to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds, travel on electricity alone for a mind bending 2.5 miles at a top speed of 46 mph...
as for pricing the 3 series petrol sedan clocks in at $32K and the 3H starts at $49K. Compare that to 4 series which starts at $40K the 4H will likely start at $55-60K.
