They are surprisingly similar despite the huge price difference. I'm sure you lose out on some luxury features and technology but it does make you rethink going with the Bimmer when you could get a Mustang that goes just as fast for half the price.

There are rumors in the automotive world that Ford designed the new Mustang with the 4 series in mind. Just look at the M sport bumber that's on the Mustang....uncanny
yea I hear you. I know for a fact it was heavily bench marked against the outgoing M3. Ford is on record saying the current GT beats the outgoing BOSS 302 around their test track.

the S197 could hang with the M3 even with its live rear, but the M3 couldn't touch the BOSS. Suffice to say I'm giddy for when someone does these two on track :D:D:D

i hate to compare these two but i have to say the mustang is a big improvement from what Ford has right now and it has the potential to be something greater.
but if i had to choose, M4 all the way. at least the mustang is a much cheaper alternative
