Tightening EU CO2 emissions standards forced BMW to switch from a V8 to an inline 6-cylinder engine with turbocharging in their new M4. The enginewill develop about 430 HP and 'well over' 370 lb-ft of torque.

I would miss the v8 but would really have to try out the new twin turbo 6 in the m4. Just want to see the difference between this set up and the N55.

I think I might miss having the extra torque a V8 does after looking at the M4/M3 torque curve. How big is the engines displacement? This video says 3-liters. I wonder if that means it's actually 3.0 liters or within the 3 liter range and possibly being anywhere between 3.0-3.9

I have a feeling it might just be 3.0 liters dead on. The twin turbo might get up top faster than the v8 but the grunt will be different follow by the spool sounds

As long as it ends up going fast I don't think it really matters if the engine is v8 or inline 6. The inline 6 would be lighter anyway which must be good for a driver's car.
