The i3 isn't supposed to be revealed until next week but some leaked photos have surfaced and here's what this abomination looks like.

I cannot stand the two-tone finish, especially that black hood..gross. The i3 goes on sale later this year at $42,275.

it looks like an inbred mini. If this is the future of BMW then no thank you. When will these makers get it through their heads that EV's dont have to be god awful boxes with the sex appeal of beige wallpaper.

I mean a 4-series EV would be super sweet and go a long way to ending Teslas stranglehold on the luxury EV market. Imagine a 4 series EV with electric motors at the back wheels and 2 electro magnetic generators in the front wheels recapturing/storing energy through the centrifugal motion.

On simple aesthetics this car is weird. I don't understand why in order to be environmentally friendly you have to drive around in this Golf Cart+. The two tone paint job is also weird. Can't they just make a normal looking little EV vehicle?

When will we get to know specs? I am curious what the mpg is.

Hey beige wallpaper needs loving too. But yea, this thing is disgusting. The rear looks like the car is broken or missing pieces and the shots of the interior show me BMW putting too many gadgets in the driver's way. There's a pod behind the steering wheel that houses the starter button, parking brake and drive selection controls...right behind the wheel! That just seems cluttered and unsafe. Plus there are TWO displays within like an inch from each other, both distracting to the driver.

the dash reminds me of a Fiat Ducato cargo van

scratch that, the van is much nicer, at least i get faux woodgrain ;)

and seriously dual screens running iDrive, iDrive is dangerous enough now you want me to use it in two places LOL. seriously i wish i could order my 4 series with radio delete (centre stack) like my 86 GT came

Fair, I guess I meant range :D

The back tail lights are kinda cool. I like how they are completely integrated instead of being a separate piece from the rest of the back hatch. The interior is pretty boring, but I am guessing that is because they wanted to keep it simple or else there would be no room in the car. It is already immeasurably small. I'd rather get a Mini or a Fiat if I was going to get this style of car. Do either of them have EVs?

The BMW i3 features a 125-kilowatt, 170 horsepower electric motor able to generate 184 lb-ft. of torque. Its 34-hp (25-kW) two-cylinder engine sits below the rear load deck.

The car gets 0-60 in 7 seconds and is expected to travel 80-100 miles on a charge using the Eco Pro efficiency setting. The battery pack contains ~22 kilowatt-hours of energy and an optional 0.65-liter (650cc) range extender can maintain battery charge at a constant level.

fiat makes the 500e, also the spark EV (only cali and oregon right now) and the focus EV are available, not to mention the Leaf.

Any word on pricing? if its anywhere near tesla money BMW is already dead in the water with this one

LOL the Spark EV produces 130 horsepower and 400 ft-lbs of torque, hits 60 under 7 seconds. I wonder why BMW has such poor torque, electric motors are supposed to produce gobs of it...

this car is perfect for people who will want an ultra cheap and super fuel efficient BMW. at least it keeps up with looking just as ugly as every other car in its segment.
