BMW has made its 4 Series official, shortly after photos of its new coupe leaked onto the Internet.
The 4 Series will launch as a 2014 model year in 428i and 435i offerings with xDrive all-wheel drive available as an option on both models. The 428i is powered by a 2.0-liter, turbo-four engine with 240 hp and 255 lb-ft of torque while the 435i sports the German automaker’s popular 3.0-liter, turbocharged inline-six engine with 300 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque.
Three different trim lines will be available on the 4 Series coupe: Luxury, Sport, and M Sport. 18- and 19-inch wheels are available as an option for all models while the M Sport package outfits the 4 Series with new styling, more aggressive suspension, and upgraded brakes. The Luxury and Sport packages are similar to what BMW has offered in the past for the 3 Series, one offering more luxurious amenities while the other gives the coupe a sportier driving experience.
Most importantly however, BMW has announced that the 428i’s pricing will start at $41,125 including destination and handling, while the 435i will start from $46,925. xDrive models will run $2,000 more.
The BMW 4 Series Coupe will arrive in US showrooms late this summer
