4 Series Hybrid, I had no Clue

BMW didn't announce it but the LA Auto Show did. BMW will be introducing a 4 series Hybrid to the world, using the same 3.0L straight six coupled with a 55 hp electric motor good for 340 horses currently doing duty in the ActiveHybrid 3 series.

no word on 4H specs but the 3H boogies to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds, travel on electricity alone for a mind bending 2.5 miles at a top speed of 46 mph...

as for pricing the 3 series petrol sedan clocks in at $32K and the 3H starts at $49K. Compare that to 4 series which starts at $40K the 4H will likely start at $55-60K.

what a weapon, love the liquid blue metallic on the 3H below at one point that was only a M color, popularized by the M5...

It seems like a strange move for BMW to make a gas-electric variant of the sporty 4-Series, but BMW has had a tendency to create strange sub-niches in the past. BMW will likely confirm the existence of the 4-Series Hybrid pretty soon, and hopefully it will give us some more details as well.

Do you think that such a vehicle will sell well?

a 4 series hybrid is a cool idea, I can see this happening. BMW is already serious about EV tech, it's just too early for them to implement it on a mass scale, for now having a bunch of hybrids with some EV's is the way to go .
