All M Performance parts are either port (vehicle processing center) or dealer installed, not factory. Unfortunately, because supply is too low, the M performance exhaust is not available for port install for the 4 series yet. Neither is the PPK. It's a shame because all M parts are fully residualized for those who lease. I got the black grills and stainless pedals installed at port any my monthly payment rose $7. I'm buying the perf exhaust at getbmwparts.com for $1185 which is a lot cheaper than buying through BMW. Having it installed at an indy shop for maybe $50 which is tons cheaper than our dealerships.

I was slightly disappointed with the stock exhaust system sound of my new 435i. OK, disappointed is maybe too strong a word. It was a lot more subdued than I imagined. Then again the cabin is so well insulated it blocks quite a lot of road noise, including the exhaust sound. Only when you drive a tad more aggressively in sport mode may you get some feedback from the rear end of the car.

(The electronically enhanced sound induced with the speakers is a, love it or hate it affair.)

I just got my 435i back from the shop. I finally decided to get the M Performance Exhaust system from BMW. Needles to say I had a once in a lifetime opportunity to get the system installed for $450. Yep, the real deal BMW certified and guaranteed.
(Please don't ask me how I managed that. a Friend of a friend of a friend......)

Well the results blew me away. Immediately there was this sexy growl. Nothing overboard or vulgar. Just this throaty more aggressive announcement I just awakened a BMW. Just what I always wanted. The F32 styling already made a lot of people take a second look, but now there is an additional appreciation. A bit of a WOW factor, a lot more respect. Lol.

BMW claims an additional 5HP, and I think I can believe them. All this without sounding like a "rice burner" going down the road.

Now for the M Performance power Kit.

By default i never really expect much from stock exhaust setups, i'm just that picky with how they sound. They sound good enough for stock but that's as far as it goes....good for stock.
