Just when we finally figure out a carís name, it changes. Take the BMW 3 Series sedan, for example. BMW abandoned the trim naming convention that relied on using an engineís displacement size years ago. A BMW 335i does not, in fact, have a 3.5-liter engine, but rather a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine. Fine, weíve all come to accept that by now.
But wait, for 2016, 3 Series sedans powered by the turbo inline-six now adorns a 340i badge on the trunk. What gives, BMW?
