That the exact same question I have. Why wouldn't they fold that one down to just to show... unless it can't fold down. However there is still a considerable amount of space. The folding seats is a big plus for those spontaneous hauls

I like the compartments underneath the liner of the trunk there.

The best part for BMW and their trunks is that the supporting bars for the trunk don't interfere with the space. There is a decent amount of room considering the fact that it's a coupe.

The bars take up some of the space it's just that there is a cover so it wouldn't hit anything or have any objects in the trunk mess with the mechanism.
